Regeneration of Gladiolus callus.
For in vitro proliferation of gladiolus (Gladiolus
x grandiflorus L.) callus, buds as explants added into
MS medium with 0.5 mg/L of BAP and 1.0 mg/L of
ANA were utilized. For regeneration callus the
concentrations of BAP (0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 mg/
L) in combination with ANA (0, 0.1 and 1.0 mg/L)
in all the possible combinations making up a 5 x 3
factorial scheme were tested. Regeneration of the
callus formed was better at the concentration 0.1mg/
L of ANA and absence of BAP, yielding on average
2.07 shoot with the average size of 2.27 cm. The
objective of word was find a ideal concentration of
growth regulators for regeneration of plants from
callus of gladiolus.
