‘IAC Jaraguá’ - new Hippeastrum cultivar for São Paulo state
‘IAC Jaraguá’ is a floriferous bulbous produced by the hybridization of species of the genus Hippeastrum,
Amaryllidaceae family. In the spring, it produces two floral escapes with four flowers with petals of salmon
coloration with very light green center in star format. It is easily propagated by lateral bulblets that blossom
after 1 or 2 years of culture in open field. It offers a multipurpose product: bulb for vase, garden plant and cut
flower, with sufficiently different characteristics of the Dutch hybrids of amaryllis, reason for which are called
by the regional nomenclature of “açucena”.
