Pernambuco, a state at the Northeast region of Brazil, produces tropical climate flowers in the Atlantic Forest and at
coastal land regions since 1994. Alpinia purpurata cultivation is adapted to this region, and some of the advantages of
those flowers are the beauty, post harvest durability and acceptation on the local, national and international markets.
This paper main objective is to share information about growth, harvest, post harvest and commercialization
experiences with this culture in Fazenda Mumbecas Flores Tropicais, Paulista (PE).
