Germination of Tibouchina stenocarpa (DC.) COGN. seeds influenced by temperature and substrate

This study aimed to evaluate the germination behavior of Tibouchina stenocarpa seeds as a function of temperature and substrate. Two assays were conducted: in the first we investigated the effect of the following temperatures: 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40°C; the second assay was carried out to study the effect of the following substrates: dirt from the plants  place of origin, sand, and paper on seed germinability. T. stenocarpa seeds had germinated at temperatures from 20, 25 and 30°C, in the presence of light. The on-sand substrate was the most effective to conduct germination tests with T. stenocarpa seeds.
