Brazilian urban landscapes: landmarks and green areas of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo

This paper makes a discussion about landmarks and green areas and its environmental and cultural characteristics. The landmarks and green areas considered were: two important landmarks of urban landscape – Tijuca Forest and Tietê River and two urban green areas very frequented by its citizens – Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon and Villa-Lobos Park – from the most important Brazilian metropolitans regions – Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and São Paulo (SP). This analysis used scales proposals by the subject of 5th Landscaping International Symposium: gardens and landscapes.
