Considerations about the use of ornamental native plants.
The introduction of native plant material to ornamental plant production has broad impacts on agriculture and
the environment. There is an increasing tendency to use local native plants in landscapes creating an economical
and sustainable addition to ornamental plant production. The search for new ornamental species and the
careful use of these plants with ecological purposes are discussed.
