Avaliação do comportamento de Diodia brasíliensis Spreng. para utilização em paisagismo

Abstract

Aiming at the introduction of Diodia brasiliensis Spreng .(Rubiaceae) in gardeníng and landscaping, parameters such as rusticity, propagation facility, growth speed, besides the ornamental habit, have been investigated. The observations have demonstrated good growth of the plants, in dry or humid soils, flowering at sunny or shade places, taking 120cm of height. The propagation by cuttings attained 94% of success in various media. The delicateness of the small flowers, colouring of white the greeness of its foliage gives to this plant very high ornamental value, making it useful in bordering.
