Abstract

The influence of 20, 25, 30 and 35ºC on the performance of aster seeds during germination was undertaken and the data set combined with the three parameters of the Weibull function, where Y = M*(l-exp(-(t/b)')). Toe time interval between each consecutive measurement was eight hours. The best combination model/ data set was achieved with 20ºC. The maximum percentage of seed germination (M) was 78.28% and the spread (e) was 5.63. The estimate of b was 62.17 hours. No parameter assimetry and bias was verified. The performance under temperature of 30ºC was different because assimetry and bias were detected for the estimate of parameter e. No seed germination was verified under 35ºC.
